The Worship Report - Barnett Carthey is in the process of filling 4 Worship Team positions:
For the next 6 months, Christine Messing will lead the Ushers and then Charlene Smith will take over for 6 months. Still needed are directors for Acolytes, Flowers, and an Organist-Choir Master.
The Fellowship Report - Becca Davis reported plans are fully underway for the May 23rd Pentecost Picnic to be held at Russ Hantke’s home.
The Education Report – Scott Kroeger presented a written report (attached) in which the following recommendations were made:
A. Re-establishment of the Education Board which would consist of Scott Kroeger, Beth Bodkin, Brooke Gladwin (as the new Director of Education), and Dorothy Reynolds or Carla Heinchon (as Director/ Asst. Director of the Preschool)
B. Begin planning now for the 2010 – 2011 Sunday School year by recruiting teachers, establishing classroom assignments, deciding upon curriculum, and aggressive advertising.
Outreach and Support Report - Fr. Paul reported that the Mobile Mexican Consulate held at St. Christopher’s on April 24th was a huge success. Over 200 people came to the church and each one was presented with a flyer advertising our Spanish language service
Minutes – Terrie Sands made the motion and Barnett Carthey gave the second that the minutes of the April 2010 meeting be approved as presented. The motion carried.
Financial Report - Bill Bodkin presented
A. The Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Balance Statement to the vestry (attached).
B. Highlights of the Lay Employees Pension System and Denominational Health Plan. He informed the vestry that it must be in place no later than December 31, 2012.
C. The vestry discussed the Hantke Scholarship Fund and determined more information is needed from the Hantke family.
Barnett Carthey motioned that Financial Report be accepted as presented. The motion carried.
The next vestry meeting will be held on June 21st at 6:30 p.m.
